 At Leashes and Lashes, we don’t employ traditional dog trainers; we employ animal behaviorists. The difference is in how we approach the dog in front of us.

A dog trainer may focus on teaching a dog to stop barking, jumping, pulling, or displaying another unwanted behavior. An animal behaviorist looks deeper. Instead of simply asking, “How do we stop this behavior?” we ask, “Why is this behavior happening in the first place?” Is the dog scared? Anxious? Frustrated? Overwhelmed? Reactive? Is the behavior rooted in fear, stress, lack of confidence, or something else entirely?

Once we understand the reason behind the behavior, we can create a plan that addresses the underlying need rather than simply trying to suppress the behavior. Our goal isn’t just to make a dog appear “better behaved.” Every dog has their own personality, experiences, and way of learning, and we take the time to figure out what they need to succeed. Understanding that helps us address the cause and work toward lasting progress.

We don't only push your family to success. Our trainers care about the dogs and families they work with. We celebrate the small wins, adjust when something isn’t working, and recognize that progress looks different for every dog. We also spend time teaching you, because training doesn’t end when a session does. You deserve to understand what your dog is learning, why it matters, and how to keep practicing at home. The best progress comes from working together.

Our Group Classes give you and your dog a supportive place to learn together. In a group class with up to five other dogs; we work on obedience, everyday manners, and staying focused around distractions while helping you build clear communication with your dog. These classes are pet parent led, meaning the majority of the training falls on your shoulders. We meet once a week on the scheduled class day and time for six consecutive weeks. To get the most out of our Group Classes, you must be willing to commit to consistent practice at home. We recommend setting aside up to 30 minutes each day for one-on-one training with your dog. The work you put in between classes is just as important as what happens during class, and consistent daily practice will give you the best opportunity to see significant improvement by the end of the six-week program.

For families who need extra help fitting practice into a busy week, our Boot Camp program is an add-on to group classes. Your dog spends three days a week with our trainers practicing and reinforcing the skills being taught in class. It gives them additional repetition and support while you continue learning and practicing together at home. If you only allow our trainers to work with your dog and don’t follow through with the homework assigned to you, you may find that your dog behaves incredibly well for our trainers, but not necessarily for you. You have to put in the work to see lasting results. Training is about building a relationship and creating clear, consistent communication between you and your dog. Dogs, much like toddlers, quickly learn who will follow through and who won’t. By practicing consistently and working alongside our trainers, you can build the communication and consistency needed to help your dog listen to you the first time you ask.

Our Private Lessons allow us to focus on your dog’s specific needs and your goals. Whether you’re dealing with jumping, pulling, impulse control, anxiety, reactivity, or aggression, we take the time to understand what’s happening and develop an approach that fits your situation. You’ll receive hands-on guidance and practical steps to work on between sessions. 

Our Board and Train programs offer consistent practice and individualized training throughout your dog’s stay. We work on the skills and behaviors appropriate for their program, giving them opportunities to learn in a structured, supportive environment. Before they go home, we work with you so you understand what they’ve learned and how to continue that progress. Your involvement matters, and maintaining those skills takes practice and consistency at home.

We know how frustrating and overwhelming it can feel when you love your dog but don’t know how to help them. We also know how exciting it is when something finally clicks. We’re here to help you through both.

We believe grooming should never come at the expense of an animal’s emotional well-being. That belief is at the heart of everything we do at Leashes and Lashes. We are proud to be one of the only tandem grooming salons in Arkansas, allowing two trained groomers to work together when a pet benefits from additional support, patience, or a second set of experienced hands.

Tandem grooming is especially valuable for pets who may become overwhelmed during certain parts of the grooming process, dogs who are large or physically difficult to handle safely, senior pets who need extra support, or animals who simply do better when grooming is approached as a team effort. Rather than rushing through a difficult moment or expecting one groomer to manage everything alone, our team can work together to make the experience safer, smoother, and more comfortable for the pet.

Having two groomers does not mean we believe every pet needs to be restrained or handled by multiple people. Quite the opposite, it gives us more options. Our groomers are trained to recognize body language, stress signals, and changes in behavior so we can determine when a pet needs more space, a slower approach, a different technique, or additional support. Tandem grooming allows us to adapt to the animal in front of us instead of forcing every pet into the same grooming routine. Every animal communicates differently, and our team takes the time to recognize those signals and adjust their approach accordingly. Whether your pet is anxious, inexperienced, elderly, disabled, or simply not a fan of the grooming process, we work with them, not against them.

At Leashes and Lashes, we believe grooming should be straightforward and transparent. We are an all-inclusive salon, meaning every grooming package includes the same high standard of foundational care. From there, packages may vary slightly depending on the specific service your pet needs. Rather than piecing together a long list of individual add-ons, we focus on providing a complete grooming experience.

And yes, we groom more than dogs! Our team provides dedicated cat grooming appointments for everything from bath packages and haircuts to nail trims and sanitary trims. Because cats have different grooming needs and often require a different handling approach than dogs, cat appointments are offered on a dedicated schedule.

Cat grooming is available every other Wednesday and every third Sunday of the month. Appointments are limited and scheduled in advance, so we recommend contacting us to reserve your preferred date.

As Leashes and Lashes has grown, we’ve worked to make scheduling as convenient as possible for our clients. While appointments are based on availability, same-day grooming appointments may be available when an opening occurs in our schedule.  When you’re away, your pet deserves more than simply a place to sleep. Our boarding program is designed around safety, comfort, enrichment, and understanding each dog as an individual. We know that not every dog thrives in the same environment, which is why we’ve created a boarding experience that allows us to accommodate different personalities, energy levels, and comfort needs.

Before any animal is approved for boarding, we require a free evaluation that lasts several hours. This gives our team the opportunity to get to know your pet, observe how they respond to our environment, and make sure we can safely and comfortably accommodate them. It also allows us to determine whether Leashes and Lashes is genuinely the right fit for your pet. We would rather be honest about that upfront than place your animal in an environment where they are uncomfortable.

Our dog boarding area is thoughtfully divided into a large-dog side and a small-dog side, allowing us to better accommodate dogs based on size and play style. Within each area, we also have dedicated spaces for different personalities. We have a room specifically designed for our more vocal or energetic pups, as well as a quieter room for dogs who prefer a calmer environment. Our quieter spaces incorporate relaxation and decompression efforts to help dogs who become overwhelmed by a busy boarding environment feel more comfortable.

Cats deserve more than a quiet room and a food bowl while you’re away. At Leashes and Lashes, our Cat Social Club was created to give our feline guests opportunities for both mental and physical stimulation in a safe, thoughtfully designed environment. Cat Social Club participation is available only with your permission and after your cat successfully passes a temperament evaluation to ensure they are comfortable and safe in a social environment.

Our Cat Social Club allows cats to explore, climb, play, stretch, observe, and interact at their own pace. We incorporate enrichment activities that encourage natural feline behaviors such as climbing, pouncing, chasing, problem-solving, and exploring. For social cats, this can also mean positive interaction and supervised social opportunities, while more independent cats can enjoy enrichment and attention without being overwhelmed.

We understand that every cat has a different personality. Some are social butterflies who want to be involved in everything, while others are perfectly happy watching the world from a cozy perch. Our goal is to make their stay engaging and enjoyable. 

Daycare at Leashes and Lashes is more than simply giving your dog somewhere to spend the day. It’s an opportunity for your dog to stay active, socialize, burn off energy, and enjoy a structured day surrounded by a team that understands canine behavior and body language.

Before joining daycare, every new dog is required to complete a free temperament evaluation. Your dog’s first day of daycare is completely free, allowing our team to safely evaluate how they interact with other dogs, our staff, and the daycare environment. It also gives your dog the opportunity to decide whether daycare is something they genuinely enjoy. Our goal is to create a safe and positive environment, not to force every dog into a group setting if it isn’t the right fit.

We offer flexible daycare options to fit different schedules and routines, including single-day passes, 6-day packages, 12-day packages, and a monthly unlimited option. Whether you need daycare occasionally, a few days each month, or a regular place for your dog to spend their weekdays, we have an option to fit your needs.

With over 6,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor play space, there’s plenty of room for your dog to run, explore, and have a great time! From bubble machines and sprinklers to toys, enrichment activities, and plenty of space to play, we’re always finding new ways to keep our daycare dogs engaged and having fun. Whether your pup is a water-loving sprinkler chaser or would rather zoom around with their friends, there’s something for everyone. With this much space and this much fun, it’s pretty hard not to have a good day!
